Indiana faces another NCAA Charge/AD to resign in December

I went to ESPN's website to check out NBA Draft news when I saw this in their news section. I guess the NCAA is going to charge Indiana with "failure to monitor" for the Kelvin Sampson debacle." This charge is not as serious as lack of institutional control but could result in further scholarship reductions and recruiting restrictions.

There is an additional story that as a result of this upcoming charge Indiana Athletic Director Rick Greenspan will resign in December.

Why would he resign in December, which is the middle of the school year?

Good question. I was wondering about that too.

If he's resigning, and he steered them into this mess, why would you keep him into December?

No wonder these kids wind up in trouble when they make the pros. Look at the examples, the people steering them. Giving them guidance and advice. What chance do they have? I'd bet that for every program that gets caught, ten others are getting away with the same thing. Anyone who thinks that college sports are "pure" because the players aren't paid are forgetting the rest of the iceberg that lurks below the surface. That's where the trouble is.

I'd prefer to disagree with you, but I'm pretty sure that you're right on the money. Sad
