Top 10 College Football Traditions You Love to Hate

No mention of Iowa fans' yearly prediction of an outside shot at a national championship...

FOX Sports on MSN - COLLEGE BASKETBALL -

My Roman Villas:
Friley-Godfrey (-66|126)
Helser-Woodrow (-61|122)
Roberts-Harriman (-74|133)

That list is not complete without those A&M guys dressed in white bending over and shaking their arms in some sort of elaborate code. Why is this impressive?

I would put # 7 as # 1. That might be because I hate everything OSU, or are they just Ohio. Maybe they should make the letters smaller and include state or st.

Ok, the Stanford tree is freaking awesome...quite possibly the greatest mascot in the nation. I mean, come on, you can't beat a drunk tree.

Also, "****** Ohio" and Colorado's buffalo are both very cool traditions IMO.

Yes, I'm an ISU Alum and Hawkeye fan...get over it.

I vote for bumping this up to No. 1. I really, really hate that thing. In '06 he came over in front of the ISU student section at least 20 times just to irritate us. He would suck in his head and trot around and flail his body.

I agree it is lame, but I can do without the name-calling, or using the "R" word in general. And if you're going to chastise people for spelling, put Missouri on the list. There are no Z's in "Missouri."

I think A&M has some of the coolest traditions. The Aggie band is pretty sweet to watch and when they play "yellow rose of texas" it's pretty cool. Also, when the entire stadium goes arm and arm swaying, I wish we had something half as cool as that ("watchya gonna do ISU" is nowhere near that cool).

TRUE & VALIANT

I'm surprised Boomer Sooner wasn't included. First down? BOOMER SOONER! Change in possession? BOOMER SOONER! Win the game? BOOMER SOONER! Lose the game? You get it.

Deep within the heart of Iowa, a storm is brewing...
... the winds of change ripple throughout the vast fields of corn surrounding the small college town of Ames.

The Gene Chizik era of football continues, and, with it, a renewed attitude of pride, determination, and success.

This is Cyclone Football.

I also hate Nebraska fans applauding the other team after the game and then patting themselves on the back about how "classy" they are.

Also, I like A&M's band, it's just their yell leaders that I don't get.

Oh you are so dead on with that one.... I hate that! I think it was a tradition probably started back in the day when it was easy to clap for a hapless K-State or someone in the 70s or 80s that the huskers had just put up 50 on... I'm not sure how the clapping has been in the last couple years however....

Agreed, the Aggie band is one of the 7 Wonders of the College Football World. The songs are repetitive, but they're fun to watch.

I'm so confused...

Thread title and the title of the web page refer to college football. And yet, the URL link name in the post and the photo in the article depict college basketball.

Which team's sport tradition am I supposed to hate? How will I make it through the rest of summer not knowing?
