wasn't there a track athlete from Africa that was on the isu track team that was lost and never found?

I know there was an XC runner last fall with that story...don't know about track..

A month before the Marshall plane crash, Wichita State's football team was in route to play one of the Utah schools when 1 of the 2 planes carrying the football team crashed in Colorado.

Peripherally, the Texas A&M bonfire debacle was at least "about" the football team.

The ISU Women's XC team was several hours removed from a Runner-Up finish at the NCAA meet. The accident shook the university and the department to the core.

The human potential lost that day is beyond description. For ISU,while it is insignificant, probable NCAA titles and future olympians were lost. The program had never regained its footing IMO despite several successfull years off and on!

What's occurred at the U of Iowa over the last several years is quite tragic IMO - or at least a real-life example of what happens when the inmates run the asylum...

The tragedy of this incident had more to do with the MASSIVE cover up that was associated with it. Completely destroyed the Basketball program for a number of years.
