So is the problem he fired an AK-47 (which I doubt he actually did, journalists being a bunch of ignorant slobs who wouldn't know and couldn't identify a gun by type if it bit them), or is it that he threatened a man with a gun, which is definitely illegal and immoral behavior?

I have a feeling we don't find out about half the illegal things players do and get away with in SEC country.

Why the need to insult journalists as an entire group? The writer didn't have a need to identify the gun. He never saw the gun. He was going off of what the victim in the case told him (or I assume police). Could the victim have been wrong? Absolutely. But since you don't know what the victim does for a living, I guess you can't insult him.

What I take away from this story is that eiu fans are right.....did you notice eiu being mentioned in their with the other big names?--Florida, Penn State, FSU, Georgia......I mean, too bad it's for illegal behavior, but hey, they're being mentioned right along side college footballs biggest names!

When the standard isn't national championships and/or when schools don't sell their souls for the sake of football you can't really compare the SEC to our schools.
That said, all legal problems are no good. I personally would rather have a program that upholds the respect of the school and community but has a so-so football team compared to a team that's really good but has no respect.
I already follow 1 league with tons of legal problems (NFL) but that is a whole other beast. In college, most of the guys won't go pro, and I think it's sad when 18-22 year olds act all crazy. In the NFL, I don't feel as bad or sad when a guy that makes $8 mil is acting all crazy.

If you read the article, the journalist states that most of the facts presented are from the deposition, police report and the witness. I am sure that the police found the gun on him afterwards.

Side note- If you ever have the chance to shoot an AK-47 I'd highly recommend it. I shot one at "The Gun Store" in Las Vegas and it was a blast. I would also recommend the Thompson sub-machine gun - AKA "Tommy gun" like you see in the old ganster movies. Very well made fire arm. Here is link for all you clones goin tto UNLV game. Gun Rental
Not far from UNLV campus.

He got busted with pot while on probation for the "shooting" too. Top 1 percent of 1 percent.

So Wilson punches and spits on another student, then the student follows Wilson with a 911 dispatcher on the line so he can file an assault charge against Wilson. They stop, and Wilson gets out of his car with an AK-47 and fires it into the air to scare the kid. Now 16 months later he's back on the team? Wow. Scary to think he has an AK-47 in the first place.
