Re: Brian Kelly's team is winning (again)

I heard that Stanford beat USC last year. Now there is a coach.

I would have rather had Harbaugh than Kelly (I think we could have gotten his brother as an assistant too). But, I wanted Chizik from the get go, just never thought we had a realistic chance at him.

Re: Brian Kelly's team is winning (again)

During the hiring process when GC name was brought up I had never heard of him. When we heard of Kelly I got excited because he was a head coach with a winning track record. That however is water under the bridge and GC appears to be a great leader and will win us many games - I couldn't be happier with the coaching decision.

Re: Brian Kelly's team is winning (again)

I didn't start this thread and as I said I didn't mean to make this a coulda shoulda thread. I just said I've enjoyed watching Kelly's Cincy teams the last couple of years for the reasons given. Since he came so close to being our head coach it's only natural that a lot of Clone fans will watch his career. He's proven to be a good head coach at several levels, but that certainly doesn't mean that Gene won't prove to be a good head coach too.
