Brian Kelly's team is winning (again)
Cincy is beating Marshall 26 -19 in the 4th Quarter and threatening. Kelly has had to endure 6 quarterback starts in the last 19 games due to injury. His scheme seems to work well and build confidence.

Brian Kelly's team also lost to Oklahoma 52-26.
Edit: The 4 teams that Brian Kelly's team has beaten this year (Eastern Kentucky Sagarin (ranked 209), Miami(OH) (119), Akron (77), and Marshall (76)) are 4-9 against D-1 opponents, with wins over Army (Sagarin 190), Syracuse (130), S. Miss (70) and Memphis (105).

Uh no. Brian Kelly and his program would be an embarrassment off the field.
And let's not call Cincinnati "his" team until all or most of the players are ones he recruited.
Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good. Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better. Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step. My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk,superdorf, clones_jer. That is all. -

While a very good coach, the second he won a few games he would be gone.
He lobbied so hard for that Michigan job it was funny.

I know you're bringing up a point of interest but honestly I don't care what he's doing.
Never argue with an idiot. They will bring you down to their level and then beat you with experience. -
Re: Brian Kelly's team is winning (again)
Gene Chizik >>>>> Brian Kelly
You'll see. And there is actually a chance he'll be around more than 3 years.
The campaign starts now. November 6, 2012. -
Re: Brian Kelly's team is winning (again)
This isn't a coulda woulda thread, but I have enjoyed watching Cincy's games the last two years under Kelly. His spread offense is innovative and crisp, and his defenses are high energy. He plugged in his 3rd

Re: Brian Kelly's team is winning (again)
to continue-he plugged in his 3rd qb of the year due to injury and they didn't seem to lose a beat offensively. They said Cincy was down 10 to Oklahoma in the 3rd quarter and probably gave them their most competitive game of the year so far.

Re: Brian Kelly's team is winning (again)
Life is good for me. The Dodgers are flying high and the Bears are winning. Now if we could just get the football and basketball programs going at ISU my teams would be doing great.

Re: Brian Kelly's team is winning (again)
Kelly would have been a solid hire but he also took over a young bowl team and Gene took over the worst team in the Big 12. Bit of a difference there.

We are talking about Kelly beating Marshall! Marshall! Not Kansas, or Missouri, but Marsahll!!! Get real
