They have MRSA roaming in many hospitals and nursing homes. My Mom was in the IC hospital this year after having MRSA and it takes a very valuable (vandium??) drug to attack. Sounds like he waited too long. MRSA can be quite contagious. Something to learn about...

I don't know about that, but things like that make me hesitant to take antibiotics unless absolutely necessary. Not sure if that makes a difference, or if it is just the nature of the infection. Still scary.

Holy crap - I keep hearing more and more about these antibiotic resistant bacteria.
The source said the amputation, which occurred three weeks ago, was the result of George's battle with MRSA, a difficult-to-treat and sometimes life-threatening antibiotic-resistant staph infection.
