Kenny George (7'7" BB Player) has partial foot amputation

Remember Kenny George? He's that 7'7" beast that plays for UNC-Asheville.

Sad for him that his career may be in danger.

Also, interesting that he's in a hospital in Iowa.

I also read he was in an Iowa hospital (most likely UIHC), but why? He's obviously not from around here...

He is from Chicago, probably had a Dr. there who referred him to UIHC

Re: Kenny George (7'7" BB Player) has partial foot amputation

They have MRSA roaming in many hospitals and nursing homes. My Mom was in the IC hospital this year after having MRSA and it takes a very valuable (vandium??) drug to attack. Sounds like he waited too long. MRSA can be quite contagious. Something to learn about...
Looking forward to CFH magic for the next bball season, Georges style.

I don't know about that, but things like that make me hesitant to take antibiotics unless absolutely necessary. Not sure if that makes a difference, or if it is just the nature of the infection. Still scary.

Holy crap - I keep hearing more and more about these antibiotic resistant bacteria.

The source said the amputation, which occurred three weeks ago, was the result of George's battle with MRSA, a difficult-to-treat and sometimes life-threatening antibiotic-resistant staph infection.
