I'm still having a hard time forgetting Steve Alford handed LE the worst loss in Hilton's history. Or the fact that Alford beat LE's B12 championship team with (7) new players on his roster.
LE lost his team for good, and the ISU program, after the 30-pt pounding in Austin. Our program still hasn't recovered since that night. Ever wonder what LE was doing after that loss to UT and his team boarded the plane home? Anyone who spent any time at bars (Wallabees, Tip Tops) during LE's reign has those stories.

Re: Eustachy not driven to drink
Guys, we did so well early in the day keeping this thread on track. We've beaten the dead horse Larry Eustachy road in on to death. That's not what this is about.
This is about a Man who had issues with his personal life. That cost him his marriage, his job, and his family getting his life straight. Lets keep that in mind.
Leave the we want Larry back.... No Larry is terrible....... No we want him back.... for another thread.

Re: Eustachy not driven to drink
Which ISU coaches, other than LE of course, would have won two Big 12 championships with Tinsley?

Re: Eustachy not driven to drink
First off, I do hope that LE continues to find both personal and professonial success.
That being said, I need to comment on this... You also got to remember....if the whole bs situation didn't even occur, Larry would have had Stinson, Blaylock, Homan....Taggart....guys wouldn't have left....good times were coming around the bend again.
Are you serious!??! I frankly lost count of how many of LE's own recruits either never made it onto campus or left due to academic trouble or what have you halfway through the season. People think we have issues with attrition now with McDermott (and not unrightly so) would be flabbergasted by how many players left LE's program with eligibility remaining.
Wow....I mean, wow.....

Wow....I mean, wow..... My sentiments exactly. I think I lost count at one point when the attrition rate hit 18 players in about 2.5 seasons.

Re: Eustachy not driven to drink
This is a little disappointing. Usually CF users can take a thread about dog shows and turn it in to a pro/con LE thread. Have we really fallen so far as to need a thread actually about LE to have an LE debate?
