Big 10 match-ups if tOSU doesn't make the BCS
Last night tOSU proved that they were talented enough to play in a BCS game but I don't think they deserved it based on their regular season body of work. Their fans and ability to draw ratings got them into the BCS.
That being said, how does the Big 10 fair if tOSU misses the BCS?
USC vs. Penn State
Georgia vs. tOSU
S Carolina vs. Michigan State
Missouri vs. Iowa
FSU vs. Northwestern
Kansas vs. Minnesota
Central Michigan vs. Wisconsin
I think I did that right... either way, if the Big 10 matches up like they probably should have, they probably do a lot better.
I'm not making excuses, I'm just saying it could have been different. The Big 10 is bad this year, but not as bad as everyone thinks. tOSU, Iowa and Northwestern all played great games.

I bolded what I think and two games are toss ups in my opinion.

Have to agree with IcSyu, with exception of Ohio State Georgia being a toss up, I think Ohio State would win this one.

Wouldn't it be Northwestern & Iowa switching schedules?

What if the Big12 only had one BCS team? I'm sure their record would improve also. The fact is that with the current system you can pretty much pencil in between the Big10, Big12, SEC, and Pac10 that 3 of those 4 conferences will get two teams in. With these rules tOSU probably deserved to get the bowl that they got. Who were you going to take instead?

Re: Big 10 match-ups if tOSU doesn't make the BCS
USC #1 in the Pac-10 vs. Penn State #1T in the Big 10 (L)
Texas #1T in the Big XII vs Ohio State #1T in the Big 10 (L)
Georgia #3 in the SEC vs. Michigan State #3 in the Big 10 (L)
South Carolina #5T in the SEC vs. Iowa #4T in the Big 10 (W)
Missouri #4T in the Big XII vs. Northwestern #4T in the Big 10 (L)
Florida State #1T in the ACC vs. Wisconsin #6T in the Big 10 (L)
Kansas #7 in the Big XII vs Minnesota #6T in the Big 10 (L)
I don't think the matchups are all that unfair to the Big X at all. In only one game (FSU-Wisconsin) was the Big 10 "outmatched" (FSU was in a 4 way tie for 1st in the ACC).
The Big 10 won the only game they played where a team from the Big 10 finished higher in their conference than their opponent did in theirs.

The last poll had them 8 places lower at 10. What if they were ranked 10 at the beginning of the season? Would they still have ended up in a BCS game?
Get rid of preseason polls and pollsters who make votes based on hot air, maybe then you won't get 2 teams in the BCS from a perceived weaker conference, thus putting all the other teams traveling to bowl games in matchups against better teams, thus making the conference look worse than it is. -

Exactly, pre-season polls suck. They help overrated teams and make it next to impossible for underrated teams to make any noise in the big bowls.

The only win is whoever plays South Carolina. That is a bad football team.

I would put Mizzou and Iowa as a toss up as well. Northwestern matched up better against Mizzou given their better pass rush. Against Iowa, I think Daniels has much more time to throw the ball and has a much better game.
