Arizona dancing=HUGE JOKE

After stringing together 7 straight wins, the biggest being against a struggling UCLA team, Arizona dropped 5 of their next six. At 19-14, how exactly did they earn their bid? After seeing that, I was certain Kentucky would get in for no reason. At least that didn't come true.

Tough draw for UNI.

Wisconsin? Didn't see that coming either.

I had a funny feeling that Arizona was going to sneak in. It's funny (or not) that mid-majors have been making an unprecedented splash in the tournament in recent years (Dayton last year, George Mason the year before), and suddenly they get practically shut out in favor of mid pack large conference teams. I don't think that is a positive for March Madness at all.

Wisconsin didn't surprise me. 38 RPI and 11 SOS. Finished ahead of Minnesota and Michigan in the Big 10 who both made it in.

Arizona was questionable...think they were rewarded for a decent pre-season schedule that included wins over Gonzaga and Kansas.

Well, I would have had St. Mary's in there instead of Arizona, but they did play a lot of good teams and beat some good teams too like Gonzaga and Kansas. Mississippi State and the Fighting Floyds of USC, plus teams like Temple and Cleveland State winning their conference tournaments pushed out teams like St. Mary's, Creighton, Penn State and others.

I do think that even though Arizona is a trendy upset pick that they will lose to Utah. Arizona hasn't done much in the tournament recently.

San Diego State, St Mary's and Creighton all deserved to be in more than Arizona or Wisconsin.

Arizona beat Gonzaga, Kansas, Washington, USC, and UCLA... all tournament teams. Wisconsin is the big joke... they have only beaten 3 teams that are in the tourney: Michigan (2), Illinois, and Ohio State. Of those 4 games only the Ohio State game carries any weight.

I could care less about Arizona, I'd much rather watch them than St. Mary's.

They also lost to A&M, another tournament team. Splitting with Washington, UCLA, and USC in a weak PAC-10 and losing 5 of your final 6, in my opinion, is not a good resume. They also bowed out in the 1st round of their conference tourney, losing to in-state rival Arizona State for the third time this season.

Paddy Mills is one of the most exciting players out there... I would much rather watch St. Mary's.

I disagree on Creighton. Them getting creamed by Illinois State was terrible.

Zona definitely doesn't deserve to be there. Finished the year poorly. There has been other years that I didn't think they deserved being there or the ranking they might have had so it's not a huge shock to me.

This makes two years in a row that Arizona made the tournament made name recognition alone. That is why I was surprised that they made it and Kentucky was left out. I figured if one team makes it in because what their jersey says, another would follow.
