Thats an interesting read, all right. Apparently this guy gets advice on column writing from Jay Mariotti.
You'd think he could have gotten at least one qoute from Delany, but that would have required actual research.
As far as having their own network goes, I'm of the opinion that the BTN does as much to hurt the conference as it does to help it. Iowa used to be on ESPN every weekend (or so it seemed), and if that had been the case last year, I'd be willing to bet that Shonn Greene would have at least received an invite to the Heisman ceremony.

The guy writing the BLOG? You need quotes for a blog now?
I think the Big 10 was underrated this year and it will be a very good league next year. The Big 10 has one of the best collection of coaches in the entire country. However it is not a league that has a lot of great offensive talents in it. It's a meatgrinder league. Nothing wrong with that it's just not all that pleasing to the eye.
kind of hard for him to complain when his own confrence has its own network
Maybe that is part of the problem. ESPN is going to promote teams they have on. When they have 1 Big 1124323 game a week vs 3 Big 12 and countless ACC, Big East, and SEC games who are they going to promote. They are going to push teams on you telling you how good these teams are so you watch their games thus making ESPN money. Heck ESPN produces the Big 12 Network games. The main people that watch the BTN are Big 3432q5d fans.

That's part of the real downside that the BTN has that I don't think that many people really thought about beforehand. If you're going to have most of your games on your own network, you're not going to get the cross promotion that you used to get on ESPN/ABC. Back when ESPN (even if it was "ESPN +") had the Big 10 games, it was natural for ESPN to promote them.
Delany is a tool, one Big 11 team makes a run in the tourny and he gets all worked up. At least this isn't Ohio State getting rolled in a championship again.
