I hope someone called you out on this (I'm not going to read 11 pages to find out) but Iowa played in the 2009 Outback Bowl so it's not physically possible for them to play in the 2009 Motor City Bowl. Heck, they won't even be playing in the 2010 Motor City Bowl since they won't play in anything less than the Capital One bowl this bowl season. 2011 is still a possibility though...

For building a program like ISU up, Mangino. He won 3 bowl games at KU. KU had won 3 bowl games in the 101 years prior to Mangino. They have less tradition than just about anyone and they are clearly a bball school, yet he found a way to get it done.
