Why all the Paulus Love?

What is the deal with all the Greg Paulus football talk? Next thing you know, he'll be invited to the NFL Draft. First Green Bay invites him for a visit, then he talks about playing at UM and now the Duke coach is saying he can start at WR for Duke. I get it, he's athletic and has a history of being an above average football player. Obviously he can't make a career out of basketball, so I'm sure he'll be able to just slide right over to contact football.

I think he was something like the top QB prospect in his class, unless i misread somewhere.

Hell, if you could play 2 sports in college at two different universities, would you? Id love to wrestle here and then go and play football at illinois or boise state or somewhere.

Let's see, some people had hime ranked as the #1 recruit in the country for FOOTBALL coming out of high school. He was offered by every program in the country. I think that may have something to do with it.

Wonder if Paulus knows that he is gonna get roughed up playing football---not gonna have Coach K crying on the sidelines everytime he gets pushed or held like he did during hoops season.

God I'd love to see him just get sacked like theres no tomorrow. I don't know why I hate him so much, but I do.

That kid is everything you want in a student athlete today. Good student, stays out of trouble, GREAT teammate, etc.

Yeah, just another Coach K flop. For as much talent he has brought in during the past 6-7 seasons, it hasn't translated into a ton of success in the NBA. I think Brand was the last player that made any sort of impact in the league

OK, let's take a look at just the QB's in that class:

Mark Sanchez
Colt McCoy
Chase Daniel
Kerry Meier

I doubt Paulus could have beat any of these guys out and would never have done well at QB at Duke.

Why would he go any other place, baby! This place is phenomenal! Ooohhh, the fans are right on top of the players. You feed off that adrenaline. You don’t need football, ooohhhhh!

he was pretty good. If he had chosen football over basketball, he could have been better than most of them. He was definitely more highly sought after than kerry meier and chase daniel.
