Re: Calipari recruiting violations
He MAY have his second FINAL FOUR stripped. He would be the only coach ever to have that happen twice.
Calipari is a bigger slimeball than Sampson and he won't even get a slap on the wrist because he has left Memphis. Just like he did with Umass right before they got busted
Re: Calipari recruiting violations
From the article:
"Sandy Bell and the compliance folks talked with the NCAA and checked records and facts," barnhart said April 1 when Calipari was introduced at Kentucky. "David Price, other people at the high level with the NCAA, assured us how much they enjoyed working with John in that process."
The NCAA high level officials said how much they enjoyed working with Calipari??? He's going to skate.

$$$$$ John has deep pockets. A lot of people in Chicago have said that Cal paid Derrick Rose to get him to go to Memphis

Don't really need to add anything else. UMass had all sorts of stuff going on there too before he left.
Scumbag who should not be around impressionable young men. Period. The NCAA is an absolute joke.
Re: Calipari recruiting violations
The NCAA is a joke. Its like they want certin coaches to cheat.
Re: Calipari recruiting violations

How do you punish a coach and not punish the players. I feel sorry for the players... They can transfer.

Only allow him to recruit 3 star players and below
Have him donate 1/2 his salary to Lucca for his troubles last year
Have every one of his phone calls recorded
That's a start

So a kid that has been at Kentucky for 2 years, wasn't recruited by Cal has to serve a punishment for Memphis' violations... I don't think so. That is how stupid that line of thinking is.
You punish the coaches by fining them money. Hit where it hurts the most, their wallets!

Then you would need a sliding scale of fines, based on how much the coach makes.
The key here is to make schools think twice before hiring a guy with less than great character. Punishing the schools, although harsh to the athletes, will get the schools attention. Fining the COACH will NOT get the schools attention.

I think you've got to suspend the coaches for either seasons or recruiting seasons. This has gotten out of control and the NCAA needs to step up and do something drastic.

Agree you would need a sliding scale.
Re: Calipari recruiting violations
In another thread someone advised to do a google search on "worldwide wes." I suggest anyone here to do that. I clicked on an article about "wes" from the GQ magazine. It was a rather long, but incredibly enlightening article about the most influential man in sports. It also briefly describes how he hand delivered Wagner to Calipari. Calipari's pockets don't just run deep - those with whom he is connected have deeper pockets and PULL!!!! Cal is the poster child for scum!!
BTW, there is no need to punish UK: in a few years, when violations are just about to explode to the surface, Cal will land another gig (probably back in the NBA), Kentucky will receive its just rewards, and the slimeball will escape once again!! Uh, unless the NCAA has grown some big ones by then --- Naaahhh, won't happen!
Re: Calipari recruiting violations
This has been a good day for UK any way you look at it. They are about to get kicked in the nuts by their former coach AND their new coach. LOL at UK

Exactly, I said the same thing awhile ago. He and Gillispie are the biggest dirtballs out there.
