I was at a minor league game down in Florida a few years ago when they went into a rain delay and the teams had a dance off during one of the heaviest downpours of rain I'd ever seen. When they finally called the game off, the home players ran onto the field and the visiting team went "up to bat". Played with imaginary baseballs, and imaginary bats (but real gloves, catchers gear, and helmets) and "played" a full inning before some league official told them they had to get off the field. Nothin like party pooper to spoil all the fun.
We had some really fun rain delays back when I played. They normally started with sending messages back and forth by writing on a baseball... Texas A&M used to pretend they were fishing out of their dugout... We sent some Freshmen over to the Oral Roberts dugout asking for random things like the key to the batters box and left handed bats, of course they fell for it. The best was an exchange we had with Nebraska, at the time they had a player named Penas and we had one named Bigwood, you could imagine the possibilities...
