Ding, ding, ding.............................it took a long time but there it is. No Iowa fan over here has ever said other on the W & L front, but many of you have said the Big 10 is done and has no talent, but finally we have a victory. I have been over here for some time and have said at least 200 times the Big 10 has been down and had poor QB play. You guys have made it more but now we see eye to eye.

You are such a hoot! I would never argue that the Big 10 will suck forever, just that they suck now. Will you admit that the Big 10 has sucked the last 4 to 5 years?

Like I said though, in 5 years they could be back up and considered one of the top 2 conferences in the country

The last 2 they have most assuredly sucked. That has NOT been your premise however. Honestly I find it odd that the reasonable posters and I get a long swimmingly. Yet the same ones I saw laughing you off in the Barnes thread are the same that I can come to terms with.

Go figure…………………they are rational critical thinkers and you aren’t

2 years? Let's go back 4 years and look at the Big 12's record vs. the Big 10:

    2005 (3-0)
    ISU beat Iowa
    Nebraska beat Michigan
    Texas beat Ohio State

    2006 (3-2)
    Iowa beat ISU
    Ohio State beat Texas
    Texas beat Iowa
    Texas Tech beat Minnesota

    2007 (3-1)
    ISU beat Iowa
    Missouri beat Illinois
    Oklahoma State beat Indiana
    Penn State beat Texas A&M

    2008 (4-1)
    Iowa beat ISU
    Kansas beat Minnesota
    Missouri beat Illinois
    Missouri beat Northwestern
    Texas beat Ohio State

Combined four year record: 13-4 in favor of the Big 12. And that's with the Big Ten playing 4 games against ISU and zero games against Oklahoma. It's not even close.

Gene Smith, 1993-2000. 7 years, 6 NCAA's, 1 bowl game. Revenue sports postseason participation 50%. Good.
    Bruce Vandevelde, 2000-20005. 5 years, 4 bowl games, 2 NCAA's, 2 NIT's. Postseason participation 80%. Better.
    Jamie Pollard, 2005-. 4 years. 1 bowl game, 0 NCAA's, 0 NIT's. Postseason participation: 13%. The next big step.

My ignore list: splitidentity, tarheelhawk, superdorf, clones_jer. That is all.

Win and Losses dont show the best talent? are you kidding me. its the best indicator thats for sure. in college football, it doesnt matter who goes to the NFL and who doesnt. its about the best team, winning college football games and the big 10 hasnt been able to do that against top competition lately. get over it. they are at best the number 3 conference behind the SEC and Big XII

You guys are literally the most convenient or short sighted posters on the web..............

Skipping 2008 because we have addressed that (the Big 10 sucked) here is 2005 to 2007......

The Big 12 has a .500 or losing record against................

    ACC……... 5-5
    SEC ……....5-6
    MWC……... 5-7
    Bg Est……. 2-3
    PAC 10.…..4-9

The Big 10 has losing record vs the .
    ACC …………2-4
    PAC 10.…….. 3-7
    Big 12.……… 3-8

yet they are 6-4 vs SEC, 4-0 vs MWC & 9-3 vs the Big East.
What des it all mean you ask...........................nothing it's football.

You lose to these guys and we beat these guys and vice versa. Nothing earth shattering……….. it's a game

Really so you'll tell me the team with the most talent wins every game?!?!?!

Find me one post where I or any Big 10 fan has said we are any better than at best number 3 right now (in fact that might be stretching it). You can't. The “convenient” fighters switched it up from (and yes I could find you continual posts) the Big 10 has no talent and is going down and will continue too The Big 10 has no speed, etc, etc, etc.............

    Anything else......

Yet you choose the stats to support your points... and continuously throw out stats or years that don't support it.

So... versus those conferences including 2008 (since we don't want to cherry pick) since 2005.

    Big 12 is 41-46 (.471)
    Big 10 is 34-37 (.478)

Pretty damn close. Give it up already.

You still don't get it..........................I'm not trying to say the Big 10 is better or even as good as. I'm only saying you guys are incapable of giving them credit. Man alive you give it up.

I personally wouldn't even place the Big 10 3rd best last year and I have yet to see an Iowa fan say the Big 10 has been better of late. That is your guys delusion because you are so jealous of any Big 10 exposure at all. At this stage you guys are making my points for me.

The Big 10 is closer than you care to admit to regaining their form. A couple solid QB's and viola’............

chad. whats the big deal man... the big 10 sucked last year, they are going to suck this year and everyone knows it. its the weakest its been in a very long time, and the Big XII and SEC is getting better and better. Plain and simple, the Big 10 is not changing with the rest of the college football world, and they are about to be left in the dust... they pretty much have been already though.

And here we go again.............................you keep believing that old man. It’s about QB play, plain and simple. I already showed that the talent is NOT on a decline outside of QB. I have continually shown the amount of WR’s the Big 10 has in the NFL and the athletic Lbers capable of covering the spread. I have also shown that the Big 10 has had spread teams since the mid 90’s and yet every time I close in you guys go to W’s and L’s which has been shown time and time and time again to be cyclical.

Bringing us back full circle to this tripe, that you guys keep assuring me isn‘t the issue only to say it again later.

You look at the NFL numbers and you show me where the Big 10 is lagging. Then you go back in the annuals and see where every conference has had a similar down turn. My friend Clones85 in a rare moment of lucidity finally even admitted it. Did you miss that?!?!

How about 2004 when the Big 12 only had 7 Bowl eligible teams and went 4-3 (decent) with 3 crushing defeats one 55-19 for OU, or 2006 when they went 3-5 with the wins coming from Texas by 2 over 6-7 Iowa, Okie St by 3 over 6-7 Bama or TT by 3 over 6-7 Minne. Lets look at some losses A&M 10-45 vs. Cal or K-st 10-37 to Rutgers. In fact the Big 12 has had just as many if not more embarrassing losses than the Big 10 in the last several years.

Passed the Big 10 by indeed…………………yep it will turn around it always does.

    Chad

PS.............I think my next project will be humiliating losses. I have to admit I had kind of forgot how badly trashed the Big 12 was in several of their Bowl losses over the last 5 years. Showing that people forget and move on to the next patsy, commonly referred to as the Big 10 right now. No wonder you guys are so eager to pile on. Your losses make ours look mundane.
