Barnes as Slam Mag Basketball Diary Keeper

I just got this month's issue in the mail. Harrison has been selected to be this year's high school diary keeper. Last year it was Xavier Henry, before that, Kevin Love, and past keepers have been Thaddeus Young and Marvin Williams. Harrison is in good company and he will write for each issue. Congrats to him.

This isn't much, but folks might be interested - here's a quick summary of his first diary from a random KU blog - State of the Union: What's new with Harrison Barnes?

Harrison is also going to be the HS diarist for SLAM magazine, his column is not available online, but since I subscribe to that mag, I'll report it all here.

Xavier Henry did the same thing for SLAM last year and in his last entry he had the following to say about Barnes, "I heard who they got doing the diary next season, and I've actually played with him once or twice- this kid's good."

So X thinks he's good, so that's good, but we already knew he was a stud.
In Barnes first entry he talked about how he will never be as physically imposing as Lebron so he has started to mold his game after Kobe because he feels that he can score like Kobe.
While growing up his mom taped every Michael Jordan game and he would watch them and use that as a template for his game.
