Chizik's seat getting hotter?

I hate to keep fanning the Chizik flames, but I read this on SmartFootball this afternoon and found it interesting that the one Auburn booster likely most responsible for Chizik's hire is no longer able to "boost."

I think he only get 2-3 years to prove himself at Auburn. I can't remember who it was Cotlar had on over the noon hour but he said Chizik is basically already on the hot seat to start the season because fans are still having a hard time swallowing the hire and he needs to succeed immediately else it could get ugly. Most fans loved him as a coordinator but after his record at ISU they still are in shock this is who they hired to lead the team.

From what I understand Lowder is the number one reason Chizik was hired at Auburn. Chizik was smart when he was an assistant there and became big "buddies" with Lowder. I really think there probably was an "agreement" made between Lowder and Chizik that when Tuberville was no longer coach at Auburn that Geno would be his guy. Lowder probably didn't anticipate at the time that Gene would fail so miserable at ISU, but that didn't stop him from hiring him anyway. Athletic Director Jay Jacobs at Auburn has long been seen as nothing but a "puppet" to Lowder. I think Gene will be fired after two year at Auburn. He is on a very very short leash.
