    ESPN Classic-Barry Switzer smoking a cig on sidelines

    So, I am bored and decided to turn on ESPN Classic. They are showing Okie State vs Oklahoma from 1988. Two or three times in the short time I have been watching they have shown Switzer on the sideline puffing on a cigarette. Times have really changed.

    Seeing Charles Thompson made me try to work my old memory.

    He got the job when Jamelle Holoway broke his leg, right?

    And then at some point he himself ended up in prison with some sort of cocaine/gun related charges. Am I remembering correctly?

    You are definitely remembering correctly about Charles Thompson. Can you imagine what it was like in Norman in the mid eighties? There was cheating of epic proportions going on. Remember the Brian Bozworth article in Sports Illustrated and it showed him and his corvette while in college? They didn't even try to hide the cheating back then.

    Remember the stories of shooting Uzis from the windows and/or balconies at the athletic dorms?

    Everyone knew it was going on. No one was doing anything about it.

    Made the Alpha Betas on Revenge of the Nerds look very tame.
