Boise Blue Turf and Unis

Just curious--maybe it's just me. Okay, so Boise's blue turf is ugly in the first place. But did anyone else think that it's not "fair" for them to wear jerseys/pants of the exact same color?

I'd think that defenders would tend to blend in a little, say, when a quarterback looks downfield. Considering that a lot of recognition is at a subliminal level. Hardly the same as with green turf or natural grass with green unis.

I would think it would be harder for a Boise St QB to find his receiver 40 yards downfield, however, it has never seemed to be a problem. Other than it being extremely odd to look at an ugly electric blue football field, it really doesn't bother me all that much.

Huh? I was just going to say - it's exactly the same thing. I've seen Michigan State blend in perfectly with the green turf at home games.

I don't think it is that big of a deal at field level, which is obviously where the players are. Should teams like Oregon or NDSU be prevented from wearing green unis at home?

I agree its ugly, though.

I had similar thoughts watching the game last night.

Personally - I think the NCAA should force them to remove it. God it's hideous.

I will say I was impressed how the different sections of the stadium were wearing the same colors.

the turf and unis bother me.....
when you are the opposing qb and trying find your receivers the d can blend in pretty well and fill the passing lanes w/o the qb noticing.

Grass is green, teams wear green. It's just different since it's on a smurf field.

I agree, level the playing field...make all the fields the same. Personally, I can't stand BSU...they are nothing more than one big gimmick. If they want respect as a real football team, lose the gimmick.

They have a legit program and they would most certainly stomp us if we played them. They may have a weird colored turf, but they can play.

I wish the NCAA would make them change it to green. There is a rule that the color must be green, but apparently that doesn't apply to Boise and they got grandfathered in and allowed to keep the blue turf.

Enough it enough I say.

Be glad its not cami'ed with cami jerseys

Don't have a link, but heard them say it during a Boise game a year or two ago. They said the NCAA won't let anyone else do it.
