I saw an article that was posted on Hawkeyenation that it may be closer to 30 players that have been hit by H1N1....that would be devastating....it looks like its going to be a BAD flu season this year. Hopefully everyone recovers from this thing quickly.

With as close of quarters as football teams keep it won't take much to decimate many, many teams.

I hope that everyone is taking the right precautions.

ESPN also reports that Ole Miss has been hit hard, and Washington State.

This is definitely going to affect a lot of college FB teams at some time this year.

Knock on wood that if it catches up to ISU FB, it is during Army week and they are impacted at the same time to keep it fair.

Be interesting to see if a prominent team looking for BCS championship game gets knocked off due to heavy flu impact one week.

I've been wondering about this especially with a team with little no depth like <gulp> ISU.

Absolutely. This is unrelated to football, but i follow drum and bugle corps throughout the summer, similarly sized\aged groups that travel around the country competing and performing. Some sort of flu (might have been h1n1) hit 1 of them, and as they competed against each other, pretty soon lots more of the corps had it, and groups were pulling out of shows and such due to the sickness... something they almost never do.. it just knocked everything out of them. This flu could easily become the story of the season, especially if a team gets hit with it right before a big game.
