yeah, that is what is reported, but Penn. laws keep his money private.

    Re: Bad coaching ....

Paterno would be fine if he could find a real QB. They haven't had one since Michael Robinson. Anthony Morelli and Daryll Clark are pretty sorry options for an elite level program.

As Steve Deace says, you can't hide your QB in college football. Penn State has learned this the hard way. As has Florida State in recent years.

I kind of feel that way about Iowa. This team reminds me of 2002 minus the QB.

This team shouldn't remind you of the '02 version. We beat that team.

The '02 version had a better offense than their current team, but this year's team has a vastly better defense. Either team would finish lower level in Big 12. Both fairly average teams.

We were way better in 2002, too. And the second bolded sentence is kind of what I meant by minus the QB. The 2002 OL was better, but Iowa's OL always tends to get better as the year goes along. I agree this team has a better defense, but the 2002 Iowa front four was fantastic. I believe it had 3 guys who are either currently in the NFL or spent some time in the NFL with Roth, Babineaux, and Cole. I can't think of who their other DE was.

Very rarely are two teams exactly alike. My point is both teams are good enough that their QBs are not forced to do much. Very good defense, very good OL, very good special teams. That team is built to win a lot of games.

you are thinking of their '04 DL. the '02 DL was nothing like their '04 dl when Robinson, Babineux and Roth anchored it - all made and play in the nfl.

I was talking about last year. Paterno was always in the booth and never had a head set on and was never talking. He looked like he was taking a nap throughout the game.

As far as coaching goes, Paterno is irrelevant. He doesn't coach a lick anymore. As cysball said he is there to raise money and get his wins. But you can tell from watching a game that he doesn't coach....at all

I watched him coach a game on Saturday night and he was talking. Probably talked more than Rhoads did on Saturday night. Plenty of head coaches don't wear headsets and don't call plays, if that is what you are referring to as 'coaching'. Let me guess, if you are 'old' you aren't worth **** in your world, huh?
