Gene tried to win at a place where not many coaches on the planet would have won. We are so low on athletes/ Big 12/ Division 1 talent.

I still hate the way he left.

Kirk has been high on Gene Chizik for years. I never said otherwise, but I guarantee he'll take a shot at ISU when talking about the controversy over 5-19 when maybe he should comment on Chizik's poor gameday coaching with horrible coordinators.

If Corso steps down at the end of the season, I want Bobby Bowden to replace him. The man will probably retire or be fired at the end of the season. He definitely has the knowledge and personality to be a hit on TV.

this. what would he have done with the same coordinators here? Obviously lower talent, but some of those close games we might have won, and some of the other games we would have been closer.

I actually think Jesse Palmer would be a good replacement for Corso. He isn't the greatest but at least he's still familiar with the game unlike Corso. Agreed that Howard is terrible.

No mention of Iowa State by name in the Chizik segment. 5-19, but no Iowa State. Not sure if that's good or bad for us. On one hand, our name isn't associated with that abysmal record. On the other hand, it could be seen as Gameday not even showing us enough respect to mention us by name.

Chizik talked about the "swagger" that Auburn had when he was there as DC. He said it wasn't cockiness, but just confidence and the feeling that they could win any game. He said that Auburn had seemed lose that swagger in the last couple of years, and he wanted to bring it back.

I have a really hard time reconciling that with the way Chizik conducted himself when he was here, especially given the story I heard on this board about him telling players they didn't have a chance to win certain games.

It's just a puzzler to me.
