Re: Deace & Miller, you don't get it OSU over Iowa.
Okie State has a similar fanbase to Iowa State. They have less than their rival Oklahoma, but they have diehards that will travel well. For a BCS game, they will turn out.

Not to mention Boone Pickens will probably spend the equivalent to 10,000 fans where ever they go...

Re: Deace & Miller, you don't get it OSU over Iowa.
how sad is it that this discussion is about what team will travel better or why the fiesta bowl will make a political pick in order to secure their future? It disgusts me that the question of "which team is better and most deserving" has no relevance in a discussion about BCS projections. I hate this system, It blows, we need some playoff format

I hate this system, It blows, we need some playoff format That isn't a BCS issue. This has been the system as long as there have been bowl games. Unless there is a specific tie-in, bowls have always been able to choose who they want for the most part. Not saying it is right, just the way it is. It used to be worse back in the day when bowls would invite teams even before the regular season ended. (70's even into the 80's)

Iowa should go over Okie State, because the Hawks are a better team.

Kind of stupid, and takes away from the actual game. Dan Patrick is that you?

Plus Oklahoma State is ranked above both Iowa & Penn State in the BCS standings, and will stay there if they beat Oklahoma. I don't know why Miller & his band of merry followers can't face that reality, but it will just make the meltdown more fun if Oklahoma State beats Oklahoma and gets a Fiesta Bowl invite.
Lesson learned: If you want a BCS bowl invite, don't lose to Northwestern at home.

They are about equals, and I am not sure which I would give the advantage too. If the game was played at Kinnick I like the Hawks, anywhere else I'm not too sure. Would love to see this match up in the Fiesta Bowl!

Re: Deace & Miller, you don't get it OSU over Iowa.
In the end, it won't matter. Iowa isn't competing against Ok. State for a BCS bid; they're competing against Penn State. The Big 10 is going to get two teams in (unless both Iowa and Penn State lose tomorrow) regardless of what Oklahoma State does. It's a matter of Penn State v. Iowa, not Iowa v. Ok. State.

Both teams have seen success, but have benefited from a weak conference. It would actually be kind of fun to see these two teams play...but I imagine the decision will come down to politics since they are very even teams, and who knows what that will lead to.
