Dana O'Neil: Syracuse's Wesley Johnson shines in Big Apple spotlight - ESPN
good read.

"And that's where this rags-to-riches story finds its pixie dust and fairy godmothers. The summer before he transferred, Johnson went to stay with his brother, Craig Carroll, who lives in Detroit. Murphy, who spent three years as a high school coach there, started getting calls from people.
"They kept telling me, 'You have to see this kid, he's really good,'" Murphy recalled.
And because those same people told Johnson they could trust Murphy, when the Syracuse assistant called, Johnson listened.
He decided to visit campus and immediately liked what he saw."
And that answers plain as day that the transfer seed was sewn way before his last season by his stupid brother.

My reaction to anything about WJ.
I don't know if this has been mentioned, but NBADraft.net now has Wesley Johnson going 4th overall in the draft. Wow, too bad he left.
As I was writing this, Bardo mentioned the "what if WJ hadn't transfered" hypothetical. Hard to think about, but oh well. We have a great group of guys ready to go this year.
This one of like 450000 articles out there about him right now. WHO CARES!!!
why do people continually ***** about former players...... if they dont want to play here than to hell with em
on espn2 during the texas-iowa game, they said iowa state was gonna be competitive this this year, then, of course, brought up wesley johnson.........
The sad (but true) part of it all is that it is working out exactly as if not better than planned for Wes and his weasel brother. Very fishy , though.
He's very quickly getting overrated. In their game versus NC, they (Vitale and the play-by-play guy) gushed about him for 1/3 of the broadcast. He's really good, and it would have been really nice if he had stayed, but I have trouble believing he's the 4th best basketball player in the world who's not in the NBA right now (and over 19 come draft night).
I find it very easy to believe. The kid is an unreal basketball player. I said when he was a freshmen that he was going to be the best NBA player to ever come from Iowa State. You can't teach 6'7 with a long reach and great hops.
People remember his soph season and thus they are so quick to brush aside how good he is. He was only 50% that entire season
Wait, so is this proof now that McD, isnt the evil aggressor that some like to point out?
