Re: Patterson and TCU finalizing new long-term deal
I have always wondered why he seems content at TCU. TCU is nowhere near the #1 or #2 job in the state of Texas. Their attendance is horrible. I just don't get it.
I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

Some guys just don't aspire to make the move up. Who knows, in 2 weeks he may be coaching Oklahoma. ;)
But, it's a decent gig for him. Nice salary, does not have the huge pressure that other programs have. Gets to pick from Texas/Oklahoma leftovers (which are still pretty good) and in most years - dominate his conference.
And then dominate so much, impress enough people and - you get to go to a BCS bowl (which they should).

It was only a matter of time before people looked at the Rich Rod's of the world and realized that maybe they have a pretty good gig where they're at. See: Kirk Ferentz.
In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.
Re: Patterson and TCU finalizing new long-term deal
TCU probably just wants to extend him so that any team that tries to snap him up has to bay a big buyout. If TCU is smart, they will try and get an extension done asap.
