Re: How would you handle the Texas Tech situation if it was your kid?
The only thing I can say is I would have waited until after the Bowl Game to confront the administration. This seems personal for Craig James and has damaged the teams chances in their (not his) bowl game. Very selfish.
I hope Leach gets to coach in the game.

I have heard that James also tried to get his High School coach fired before eventually transferring...

Honestly if Leach gets fired, I hope he slaps Tech with a wrongful termination suit and the James' for defamation of character.

I would tell my kid to suck it up because if he comes home he ain't going to be sitting in a dark cool shed all day.
*disclaimer- I have 2 girls right now, but I can see my dad saying something like this.
Exaggeration is a BILLION times worse than understating. -

Honestly - I think Leach hopes he gets fired so he can take his money and run. In an ESPN interview last year he pretty much said there is too much BS in college football today. If he's fired you wont see him in coaching any more.

Re: How would you handle the Texas Tech situation if it was your kid?
I think the AD saw what happened at Kansas, was envious of the Kansas AD getting rid of a coach he did not like, and was looking for a reason to do the same. He saw this opportunity and decided with the President of the University to take it and make it work to get rid of Leach.
James' interview on ESPN last night was pretty weak in my opinion and the interviewer asked some decent questions.
If it was my kid, I would be down there or on the phone talking to the doctor that cleared him to play and ask him why he is still having problems.

Yeah, they asked some decent questions to James last night and he sidestepped every single one of them...

Sounds to me like he was treated like anyone who blatently violated team rules. Originally Posted by pyrocyz Yeah, but Daddy James played in the NFL and works for ESPN which means that he should be an instant starter without practicing.
Sounds to me like he was a spoiled brat. You guys are right on.

Which was surprising because you know they had indepth discussions before he went on air. Surprised they wasted the time when they knew he would beat around the bush. Maybe it was all just window dressing so they can say they didn't give him special treatment and asked the hard questions.
