I think so. This one girl in the BSU dance squad was at least 200 lbs. We have some girls who weren't blessed w/a pretty face in our squads, but not any in need of invasive gastric bypass procedures.
In 1984, I was hospitalized for approaching perfection.

Absolutely. The BSU band was the embodiment of every awful marching band stereotype. As a former band person, I feel it's my duty to mock their awfulness.
As a, as of 4 days ago, former marching band member, I agree. If your band and cheerleaders are horrible, the stadium won't be nearly as loud as it has the potential to be. I remember the Iowa game in 08 when their quarterback had to cover his ears when we played. That is what band is supposed to be. The other thing that the band brings is fans. You figure on a 300 person band, 65% of whom has 3-4 people (parents, siblings) who come to games on a regular basis mainly to see the band. And then you add in the large number of band alumni who still attend games (I personally am hoping to make it back most weekends next year, assuming I go to grad school somewhere close, and even if I don't I plan on making the trip back at least for homecoming and figuring out ways to watch any games I don't make it back for. ). Those numbers add up. And when your band clearly doesn't want to be there ..cough, cough, BSU! cough cough... those other people probably don't want to be there either.
