Colt McCoy
I've never seen an interview quite like that. First, he couldn't (or wouldn't) talk. Then, he sounded like he wanted to have played. "I would have done anything to play." "It didn't hurt." "I've taken hits like that all my career."
His dad and/or coach must have made the decision for him. And it was probably the right one for him. He did a great job of expressing his passion without breaking bad on his dad and/or coach.

Re: Colt McCoy
Sounded like he still doesn't have feeling in his arm.

Re: Colt McCoy
did u listen to the fact that he couldn't feel his whole arm? and of course he wanted to play.. wouldnt u want to? it was the right call
Iowa State: Anyone who's a true college basketball fan needs to see a game at Hilton Coliseum. Nice is in the DNA of Iowans and the fans here are particularly gracious -- even when the home team loses but gives a great effort, they are appreciative. ESPN.com picked Hilton Coliseum as the "Hot Arena" in the Big 12...coaches in the league noted that, "regardless of talent, the Cyclones have a home court like no other." -
Re: Colt McCoy
He probably pinched a nerve.

Re: Colt McCoy
Stupid Question from the reporter - "How did you feel not being able to play"....very impressive young man though. My guess though is it doesn't hurt cause they doped it up hoping he could play...

Re: Colt McCoy
Kind of a bizarre (and uncomfortable) interview. I'm not sure what to think or believe after that.

Re: Colt McCoy
I hate reporters who ask questions like that
Oh we will fight, fight, fight for Iowa State, and may her colors ever fly!!! In Accordance with Prophecy -
Re: Colt McCoy
Hopefully it is just a pinched nerve

Re: Colt McCoy
Great kid, great competitor that has dealt with too many bad breaks... He deserved a better end to his college career.

Maybe you are right. I heard him say all those things, but I wasn't quite sure what he meant by all of it. It seemed like it might be more than just explanation of why he didn't play. Or maybe not.

Re: Colt McCoy
Agreed, it's a very awkward question, and right before it was asked, I was telling my friends, "I hope McCoy isn't interviewed about this game, but you know he will be." What else could he say? Of course he wanted to be out there, of course he wanted a storybook ending to his college career, but he only took a couple snaps. Sorry national media, this isn't your story. Colt is a class act.

If you can't feel your arm, you wouldn't be able to hold a football, let alone throw it.

Re: Colt McCoy
After tonight, I will forever be a Colt fan. That kid should have gone to the national title game last season, won a Heisman, and won a national title this year. I don't know if I could live with that disappointment.
