Big XI
A poster on one of the Hawk sites claims that the conference has extended an initation to the Univ. of Pittsburg to join their conference and it's been accepted. Which means that they are looking for the financial bonanza that a championship game brings.

Re: Big XI
Pitt doesn't add a new market to the Big Ten but makes it possible for their rivalry with Penn St to be rekindled.

Re: Big XI
Nice addition to their conference. It will be interesting to see how they break out their divisions (assuming they do). -
Re: Big XI
I am not going to lie, I am kind of glad that Missouri didn't leave the Big 12. Poaching a team from the Big East will cause less of a stir in conferences nationally than poaching a team from the Big 12.
Maybe the Big 12 will get the heads straight and make a proper revenue sharing system.

Re: Big XI
I wonder how they will spilt the conference up? Michigan and Ohio State in the same division? Conference Championship game will have to be in Indy or Detroit those are the only domed stadiums in that area.

? if they go with the same system as us....they will keep michigan and ohio state together. this is rather obvious. so this set up you present may be close but i would swap OSU for either indiana or northwestern. (i'm not up to date on the natural rivals of those 2 teams.)

I would assume they'll have an east/west.

The B10 West would be the equivalent of the B12 North. At least now the B10 can have a championship game, so their crappy teams can stay out of the BCS championship game.

Re: Big XI
There is no way this is going to be announced to the players before it becomes public. This rumor is pretty much worthless.

Re: Big XI
I still wouldn't be surprised if the Big Ten tried to go to 14 teams.
