Full Blown Conference Realignment
http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/201...ent/index.html
As discussed before, 64 teams in 4 super-conferences. Notice, ISU is #60 in cash revenue but left out of the 4 super-conferences (top 64) and replaced by Mississippi State.

Re: Full Blown Conference Realignment
interesting on page 2 we are in the top 64 but looks like we get replaced by the note at the bottom
*Because none of the surviving conferences would jettison a member, Mississippi State (No. 67) would replace Iowa State. -

So even though we produce in excess of 10 million more in revenue than Miss St., we are left out in the cold??? NCAA is full of ****!!!

It all starts with leaving the NCAA.

There are two novels that can change a bookish fourteen-year old’s life: The Lord of the Rings and Atlas Shrugged. One is a childish fantasy that often engenders a lifelong obsession with its unbelievable heroes, leading to an emotionally stunted, socially crippled adulthood, unable to deal with the real world. The other, of course, involves Orcs. ~ John Rogers -
Re: Full Blown Conference Realignment
His whole point is to eliminate government interference, yet he is leaving out Utah and Boise State which are the teams causing the government to interfer.

And they bring in a non BCS school in TCU that is crap. They bring in just a little bit more then ISU. Send them packing put ISU in the big 16 and send KSU to the PAC-16.

Wrestling will be a big deal in the Big 16, and thus ISU will get into that conference over KSU...

Re: Full Blown Conference Realignment
Completely stupid article. It shows ignorance of college programs.
In 2000/2001 ISU was doing better in all athletics that most schools on that list. The economy might be done and ISU still has rated volleyball, w basketball, cross country, and wrestling teams, and football wasnt terrible, men's bb is the only problem.

Re: Full Blown Conference Realignment
Also, if CASH (i.e. money) is the big driver, FB stadium seating capacity will be taken into consideration, and a number of schools on that list have lower seating capacity than ISU.

SI's outlook on Conference Realignment

About half way down the article they throw Iowa State out of any of the big conference. Lets hope this never happens.

Re: SI's outlook on Conference Realignment
Rutgers, Syracuse, Northwestern, Indiana, Washington, Washington State, Virginia, Wake Forest, Miss St, Vandy, Oregon State.
Baylor and Duke?
I hope we really turn the corner in Football the next 5 years. We need to beat a couple big name teams and get our stadium done.
Then we won't be left off this list. Of course that doesn't explain half the teams that made above.
Its funny how these things come out and they take teams that are hot.
If TCU goes 7-5 in the MWC next few years they will become irrelevant

Make sure you don't call the charge. But make sure you call the foul on the scrum.... -
