Doesn't mean a lot, but it's interesting.
After beating our guys in the 2001 tourney, Steve Merfeld took Hampton back the next year. Then he took the Evansville job, where he had five straight losing seasons. He moved on to be an assistant at Bradley, where he stepped down on 12/6 of this season, two weeks before we beat Bradley here in Ames by something like a billion points.
This doesn't mean a whole lot. I just found it interesting to look up. His career has really fallen off.
