Re: Calipari: Still hasn't been to Final 4

I am suprised at all they hate for Calipari and Huggins. Memphis lost their wins because Rose didn't have a test score. Who cares about a test score? The NCAA has ripped Calipari for everything and has not gotten away with anything. I thought the ISU fanbase hated the ncaa for all the crap we have taken through the years. And we hate Huggy because his teams play hard, have jucos, the guy had a dui, and his teams win. Sounds eerily similar to a few past coaches we had here. I am stunned by the other post comparing Calipari to Mcdermott. How mcdermott got more than three votes makes me upset. I honestly do not know if ISU bball well be relevant again. dead serious on that.

If you think Calipari had nothing to do with that Rose issue than you are living under a rock. Check out his ties with World Wide Wes as well.

Who cares about a test score. I don't see his players running around rampant getting in trouble at all. They are kids that want to play ball for a fun energetic coach.

Funny. That is the same attitude that Calipari has. In fact he feels so strongly about that ....that he doesn't make his kids go to class and take the tests. He says "we will get you through the first semester and than you can go to the NBA after that"

    Great post.

You know a lot of the posts on this site lead me to believe that we have a significant portion of our fanbase that is best described as "poor losers". All of the hate directed towards a guy like Wesley Johnson and the animus for coaches like Calipari, Huggins, Martin, and Izzo.

Maybe some of you should try something other than bashing the success of others while excusing the failure within our own program.

I cheer for two teams, Iowa State and whoever is playing the hawkeyes.

I don't hate Izzo. And I don't hate Huggins or Martin. They come off dirty but nothing concrete on them.

Calipari? When you have 2 final 4's vacated you shouldn't even be allowed to coach anymore. But he is so slippy and slimy that he leaves the school right as the NCAA hammer is coming down on them.

You're kidding right? NCAA violations that occurred while Calipari was coaching caused two different schools to vacate wins and you're defending him? Us thinking he's a slimy greaseball has nothing to do with being sore losers, it has to do with the fact that he's a slimy greaseball.

BTW, Calipati's only problem this year was having to play a Big East team to get to the Final Four. The Big East rules.
Nah, his problem is that he had to play the one legit Big East team this year. The conference is the best top to bottom but their top teams weren't any better than the top teams in the big 10, 12, SEC etc... the tourney proved this.

Yeah... its not like UK was really tested before this round. I mean, I laughed at the beginning of the game when they talked about kentucky dominating so far. They'd played a 16, a 9, and a 12 seed. Admittedly that 12 is probably a bit underrated, but still.

I dont really ever see the big point of this. Brent Musberger (sp) has a great quote from Bob Huggins, something along the lines of "people don't go to college to get a degree they go to college to get a job". Thats all these guys offer, a chance to go to the NBA. No one in there right mind would go to college just for the heck of it, we go to make ourselves more marketable for the job market.
