awkward moment in WVU-Duke semi final

was anyone else a little uncomfortable with the amount of time bob huggins spent within licking distance of Da'Shaun Butler??

I missed the game because of Easter Service tonight. All I have seen is the score, and this picture...anyone want to elaborate?

Butler, while driving to the bucket in the 2nd half jumped to shoot and looked like he either ran knee to knee with a Duke player or twisted his left knee. Well, needless to say, he was laying on the ground in obvious pain and to make him lie still while the docs/trainers looked at it, Huggy Bear layed down on top of him and that is the pic you see.

I thought it was awesome. It just shows you how much Huggins loves his guys. You can tell how much they love and respect their coach and I wish we had that at ISU. My eyes were a little teary when it happened.

3 Final Fours a coach can do whatever he wants to do. I do think Bob Huggins intentions are not what you all hope them to be. Coach/player intentions are strictly competitive. His "Quarterback" went down. Make it weird if you feel inclined. I prefer not to take that dbag route.

This! His guy was in major pain out there. How many other coaches would be out there doing this? Most would be in the huddle talking to the rest of the players, while letting the trainers work on him. Instead, he was out there trying to calm down his best player.

I agree with everyone on the compassion and care Huggy shows for his players, but all the guys at my house were all thinking it would eventually lead to making out followed by passionate love-making on the floor... was kinda awkward to watch.

I'm not a homophobe so I thought it was a great thing. You rarely, if ever, see a coach show that type of compassion for a player.

At the same time that was a pretty powerful moment. You could always tell how much Huggy loves his players and shows that sort of compassion. Good stuff.

the kid was in pain-both physically and psychologically. Hug' came in and really did his job. He has been a mentor to this kid for 3-4 years and Hug' has a father like connection to these kids. I would do the same kind of thing if my children or friend were in excruciating pain.
