Living out of state has afforded me very few occasions where I get to meet a fellow cyclone fan and shout for joy for latest hire or big win...hemm hemm, nebraska...
I thought I would like to share my recent memory of fellowship with you, and some others.
Just an hour ago, I walked into one of our local Trader Joe's and was surprised in the sea of hippies to see a dude in his cyclone windbraker (big red and yellow- hard to miss) and I shouted "GO CYCLONES, FRED HOIBERG BABY!!!" He chuckled and laughed to his buddy. It was fun, and I was kicking myself that I went with the twins cap instead of the ISU hat- both are blue...
anyway- for the out of staters: the best is when you see a Hawkeye and smile and shout: GO CYCLONES!!! - they always smile until they realize what you are saying!!

I was flying from DFW to Salt Lake on Sunday night and the ISU softball team was sitting at the next gate waiting for a flight to DSM. I talked to them for a few minutes to see how the season was going, and they seemed pretty happy to talk to a fellow Clone.
Living in Austin, I have encountered more Cyclone fans/ISU alumni than I have Hawkeyes, although those that do live here are fairly ostentatious about it. Just last week I was cut off in traffic by a black truck with a huge Tigerhawk logo occupying his entire rear windshield. Although I can't be certain, I have ISU stickers/license plate covers so his douchiness may have been intentional (to be fair, traffic here sucks and douches abound).
