John Calipari at it again.......
#13 ranked player in the country Terrance Jones held a press conference to where he committed to Washington. After seeing this, Cal called him up right away, and now has convinced him not to sign a LOI. Looks like he is going to go to Kentucky. I wonder what Calipari offered Jones?
What a shady shady man. Can't the NCAA step in and just get rid of this loser? Cal had plenty of time to recruit this kid and he picked Washington. What changed on a phone call?............
Re: John Calipari at it again.......
Why have a press conference if you aren't going to sign your LOI then? If he hadn't signed, Cal did nothing wrong by calling him.

You are right. Technically he didn't break the rules....but it is wrong on so many levels. The kid was still in the auditorium where the press conference was. People were still in there. The kid made the decision. What did Cal say to him? He had to have offered him something......
Re: John Calipari at it again.......
I believe it was "Tark the Shark" that said that he loved it when a kid committed to another school because then he only had one school to compete with.

Terrence Jones to Washington? Not until pen hits paper. - The Dagger - NCAAB Blog - Yahoo! Sports
FYI the kid Kanter that already decommited from Washington is the #3 ranked player in the country

Nah. Every school in the country could offer him a starting spot

I'm guessing it was a scholarship to play on one of the most prestigious college basketball teams in the country. Just a guess though.

Nope. Not that either. Considering he offered him a year ago and has been putting the full court press on him the whole time. In the end the kid picked Washington. Classless Calipari then called him and was able to get him to change his mind? How? What did he sell to him?
Re: John Calipari at it again.......
Calipari just seems to always know how to put together the best team that money can buy. Fortunately for him, he's now at an institution in which the NCAA chooses to look the other way...
Re: John Calipari at it again.......
My guess would be something like this...
1. I am going to start you on a team that will definitely make it to the NCAA tournament.
2. I put 5 guys in the draft this year that will likely be taken in the first round.
3. I am building another super team of freshmen and want you to be a part of it.
4. Do you really want to go somewhere where it rains all the time.
The kid could've been looking for a guaranteed starting spot.

I thought that was Bill Snyder's credo.

This kid would start at any school in the country. Cal did something shady here and will more than likely never get touched for it. But it doesn't add up at all. Recruit the kid for a year and lose...but make a 15 minute phone call and he changes his mind?!?!
