Expansion Deadline?

Does anyone know when the last possible date is for expansion in any conference? I just want to know when I can come back to cyclonefanatic.

Obviously there are going to be new 'sources' putting stuff out, but i think all posts that are just new 'opinions' should be merged into existing threads. If someone has a link to a new 'source', or claims to have their own sources, let them have their thread, otherwise a lot of these random opinions need to get merged somewhere.

This could play out till fall or it could go to next year. Come back in the fall. The Big Ten thing has been going on for years.

Sorry, no I don't. But I hear you. Summer is normally a slow time. This is a perfect fit for more media attention and hearsay.

There is no set date, but in another thread i gave an estimate of a timeline. Basically the big 10 university presidents will talk at their annual meeting (which is coming soon) about expansion. They will then spend the next year doing research and debating as to which school/schools should be offered an invitation. Then at their next annual meeting in 2011, they will probably give a final vote to extend an offer to a school. This is just a guess but it seems reasonable to me.

They already had a firm do the research on quite a few schools. Lets hope they move quickly after this years meeting so this **** is over.

Research has already been done. Big Ten is rumored to want to move quickly and extend offers by June 30th.

Because it's not a big story everywhere right now

I check out 7 different sports radio stations either in my car or online and every one of them has had multiple segments on the topic, every day for weeks ... this is not a topic that is going away. It is a national story that has the potential to impact everyone, no matter who your school is.

Sorry, but it's not going away amy time soon, even if the BigTen does make offers
