Re: Texas AD Talks of forming Longhorn TV Network
I actually wonder how that would work. They wouldn't be able to televise FB games, would they? Because ISU couldn't televise their games on Mediacom when they weren't picked up. It would f'in ridiculous if UT can just skirt the "rules" and start televising their own games. But besides that point, it's a given that they couldn't put their away FB games on there. For their home games, you'd think that a majority of them would be put on the big broadcast network (ABC regional/ESPN now, maybe Fox or NBC down the line). So this network would sell in that state for 1-2 FB games per year and then basketball and Olympic sports? Man, I don't see it. I don't see people paying for that and I don't see the other in-state schools standing for it.

Well mr clonestar.....I agree that the big 10 maybe a DINO-SAR.....But its a money making DINO-SAR
and of course your rite that Texas will never join a conference that they cant have special privileges...certainly not the big 10 where northwestern makes the same money as Ohio State......that would never fly with the boys in austin tx!!
Texas Greed ended the southwest conference and Texas Greed is gonna end the big 12 conference....
Be Proactive Jamie and find us a new home so we can leave the F****** Lousy Texas conference....oops sorry the lousy big 12 conference!!! -

If you think people are going to pay what they do now for season tickets to see us play against San Diego State and Colorado State, you're nuts.

Re: Texas AD Talks of forming Longhorn TV Network
Why couldn't the other conference schools pressure Texas to agree to a Big 12-Pac10 alliance for a tv network? Why wouldn't that be just as good as Texas joining the SEC?

You want to continue to have to listen to games on the radio? MW already has its own network. You like the lack of revenue sharing in the Big 12? MWC already has a sharing approach. You like Texas and 11 dwarfs? You like this? Tell me what the Big 12 offers ISU? Please.

Leave to it a UNI guy to show some logical thinking :) But us mid-major guys don't have BCS-itis.

Show me how we would make more money in the MWC? You do realized that 50% of the TV revenue IS shared in the B12 don't you?

Re: Texas AD Talks of forming Longhorn TV Network
The MWC isn't my first choice, but it would have some advantages now that it will get an automatic bcs bid. Would increase travel expenses for the teams and fans, but adds some great travel destinations and more games on tv. But would they add us since the geography doesn't make a lot of sense or want a Boise State, or both?
