See this thread as a prime example. Miller cherry picks one question and one answer that would be bad for ISU. He completely ignores the question and answer right before it. You know...the one that says strength in numbers. FWIW, int the numbers game ISU is already in the Big 12 and will not get kicked out. Texas realizing strength in numbers means they realize the Pac 10/Big 12 Alliance is important. Them wanting a channel dedicated to them is Texas posturing in those negotiations
Do you ever hear a show where the talking idiots talk about the benefit for ISU. The little eleven possibly offering Mizzou or Nebraska has sparked the Big 12/Pac 10 TV Alliance talks. This could spur revenue sharing and more $$$ for ISU and a more equal playing field. Have you heard them discuss what happens if Nebbie and Mizzou are offered but turn it down?
Perault once went off on a tangent about the affect on taxpayers when JP sent his email to that punk that was complaining. Where is Perrault now? Why isn't he urging people to call their legislators to urge Iowa to support ISU joining the little 11
Miller and Perault are nothing more than pot stirrers. They are both extremely lazy in the research field. They make their show by stirring up emotions and nothing else. When backed into a corner they change the subject.
Quite hoenstly, I listen to those guys and can't believe they have jobs and do so little research. Guess that is why they are in Des Moines
Hey jonny boy you forgot to show this quote"
How do you look at the talks of an alliance on TV and scheduling between the Big 12 and Pac-10?
If you remember back to the Southwest Conference, we formed a TV alliance with the Big Eight during the tough TV times. People were bailing, Notre Dame was going off on its own and the SEC was dropping out of the CFA [College Football Association]. The Big Eight and the Southwest Conference formed that alliance, and this is a similar kind of thing. It's really strength in numbers, which is what you need working with TV.
Sorry that the facts are scary guys....
- We get a fairly decent record and fall a field goal short of playing in the Big 12 Championship Mac's second to last year. Field goes in we are a game away from getting in to a BCS game. We never sniff a BCS game in the MWAC unless we go undefeated. Advantage membership BCS conference.
- 2000 and 2001 Back to Back Big 12 Champions. 2 seed in the tourney. Statistics show being a higher seed results in progressing further through the tournament. Again an advantage of being a BCS conference. We don't get a 2 seed winning the Mount West. Advantage membership BCS conference.
- Major college conferences regularly get more seeds in the tournament. The mountain west gets what 1 or 2?
This is what you need to read and read again to understand why ISU fan DOES NOT want to leave the Big 12 and step down. We lose out on all those opportunities if we step down a level.
Maybe it's something of a more generic sports thing you JUST DON'T GET. A true competitor never takes pride in beating a lesser opponent. If you want to be the best you play the best.
If we step down do you EVER think we have a win that would mean as much as beating Nebraska did last year??? No, and that right there is the exact reason we are in the Big 12. The games matter because we are playing the best.
Screw Texas, they've already screwed us, screw sportstalkmatt, and people who don't use their turn signals can also get screwed, and fat girl hair cuts, and deep water drilling, and Jon Miller with his fake orgasms talking about big 10 expansion, and Deace's cheese fries, but most importantly, screw squrrels. If I catch another one of those little bastards eating out of the bird feeder, I'm gonna bust out the ruger my gramps got in wwII on their ***. Oh, and two guys named Jim should be renamed two idiots on Xanex.
Ithink if you read the article you might want to pay attention to the questions before the one miller quoted. You know the question where Texas' AD talks about strength in numbers.
Take a step back and realize you are listening to miller. The guy has never been right.
I am all for going MWC but ONLY IF the MWC gets a BCS automatic birth which they are close to getting right now. If the MWC were to add ISU, Boise St and Fresno toget to 12 teams, that should be enough to make the MWC a BCS conference.
