Miller-Deace
I swear the Big 10 expansion talk is like watching the stupid neighbor dog chase every car that goes by. Interesting, even entertaining, at first but annoying due to the mindless frequency.

Re: Miller-Deace
Are you talking about that show from 6-8 AM on weekdays called "Big 10 expansion in the morning?"
Jon Miller has peed his pants from being so giddy about 5 times now.

Re: Miller-Deace
They have way too much time to think about this. The basically rebuilt the Big 12 and Big 10 today.

Re: Miller-Deace
Gotta pass the time talking about something. The NFL has been extremely quiet this offseason compared to other off seasons.

Re: Miller-Deace
I was just logging on to post something about this...for about the 15th straight day, they talked about the exact same thing. Except for Deace throwing out his 57th different prediction about who will be added to the Big 10...so when expansion actually happens, he can say he was right because he has mentioned every possible candidate at some point.
He now went from "no way Texas joins the Big 10" to now saying most likely they will.
I don't download the podcast anymore if conference expansion is included in the description...there is only so many times I can hear them say basically the same things over and over. I understand its May but the horse is dead, leave it alone.
I would rather listen to them break down the NBA...and I hate the NBA.

Re: Miller-Deace
Well, they are sports talkshow hosts...expansion is currently the big news in college sports whether we like it or not. There have been some things to talk about like Babb transferring INTO Iowa State, but beyond things like that there isn't much to talk about that brings the ratings. I for one am not tired of it yet. Yes, it's all speculation, yes it can get tiring, but 9 times out of 10 I'd rather listen to another discussion about it then having nothing to read about in college sports right now.

Funny because a Texas insider was on Matt and Miller yesterday and pretty much said Texas is only using this talk to air out their grievences in wanting to start a Longhorn TV network. Texas already has money, already only has an easy way to get the NC game, and already has control of its conference. I just can't see it happening.

Re: Miller-Deace
Today, we have talked Lakers-Suns, Magic-Celts, Floyd Landis, Berman to the Walk of Fame, Babb, Houghton and Big Ten expansion from all sides.
Big Ten expansion is the biggest story in sports this 'off season' and we'll talk about it, and try to do it from an Big Ten and Big 12 perspective. It may not be for everyone. You can tune down the dial and hear them break down the Yankees and Red Sox, or go real deep about the NBA playoffs. If that's for you, you have options.

We said 45% chance join Big Ten, 35% go independent, and the rest stay Big 12.

Jon Miller has peed his pants from being so giddy about 5 times now. He's definitely wet his pants, but I'm not sure that it's pee.

Re: Miller-Deace
I still listen because I like both guys. If this was Matt & Miller the dial would be turned. Matt giggles at everything he says. It seriously makes me want to scream.

Re: Miller-Deace
Jon, since you are here. What process does the Big10 have to go through to change their by-laws? I ask because under their current rules Texas couldn't join because they do not share a state border with another school. Could the Big10 just change the rules in one vote and bring in Texas the same day, or would that be a longer process that would take some time?

Re: Miller-Deace
Jon, serious question (I'd call in, but I'm at work):
A) Why do you think Texas joins the Big 10? Is the Big 10 going to get rid of revenue sharing? Are they going to let Texas call the shots? If the answer to any of these is "no", than it isn't happening, and you know it. I'm not saying this for ISU's sake, because I actually like the "new" Big 12 you guys hypothesized today, but let's look at reality here. Texas isn't going to give up any power. Period.
B) Why do you WANT Texas in the Big 10? The Big 10 doesn't NEED expansion, they WANT it. The Big 10 is just fine as it is, or maybe adding one team. Adding Texas knocks Iowa down the totem pole, and if they're in the same division, it's going to kill Iowa football as you know it. Iowa will likely never play for a conference title again. They'll still make a bowl every year, and win a few games, but their relevancy is shot. Also, Texas kills conferences, and they'll do the same to the Big 10.

Re: Miller-Deace
The only way Texas could go to the Big 10 is if Texas A & M goes too.
