Because Cincy, Pitt, WVU, UConn, USF, and Rutgers are awful?? The Big East is a stonger conference top to bottom, especially if the 4 Big 12 schools join.

True. Also, have we not been told the driving force behind all this is TVs? The Big East should fear no one, if that is the case. Given the hiring of Paul Tagliabue, the Big East feels the same way.

I agree - with Tagliabue on as a consultant to help them navigate this they look like they have something up their sleeve.
I would hope that if the MWC is moving, they may be trying to keep Utah from leaving and/or they know the Big 12 North leftovers are heading to the Big East.

MWC could still potentially add Kansas, Kansas State
Re: Joe Schad (ESPN): Boise State to MWC Today
Will Boise State still get the same caliber of players? I've heard (probably just message board banter) that Boise State is able to recruit players that can't qualify academically at the BCS level. I know that the NCAA sets the criteria for student athletes, but is there a difference between the MW and WAC requirements?

Well of course, but I'm guessing they're far more interested in the Big East (due to basketball) than the MWC. I think the MWC would gladly take KU, KSU, Mizzou, and ISU to get up to 14, but the Big East probably has dibs.

cincy was way overrated this year, which was shown when they got steamrolled by florida. they got through a soft conference and nonconference schedule (playing teams like SE missouri. oregon state was missing one of their best players after the boise state game, fresno state isnt exactly a top notch program, syracuse and illinois are also very weak opponents. even chizik could have beaten those teams. usf isnt all they are hyped up to be with their nonconference schedule. uconn is better than in the past but they still arent good, and neither is miami (OH). there only real opponents last year were west virginia, pitt, and florida. rutgers is ok, but they also had a horribly easy nonconference schedule as well. so yeah id rather play teams like TCU, boise state, and utah

You could do that for 95% of college football.

A couple of counter-points:
Brian Kelly left Cincinatti the week before their bowl game
Oregon played Boise St., not Oregon State who finished tied for 2nd in the PAC-10
Fresno St had a down year, but actually had the chance to beat Wisconsin
other than that, your argument is sound
