More for the ND, Arkansas argument
Notre Dame, Arkansas: Come on Down / LJWorld.com
Basically just another opinion, but if Jerry Jones wants it done...then what can stop him?
Can one of the mods please correct my spelling in the title?

I've been saying this is the only expansion that makes sense. Would be HUGE.

Actually, it's not. If you think so, you need to look up the definition of "fact/ opinion"
I agree it's unlikely... But based on the ast week, as well as my life experiences in general: never say never.

Please go back and note the smiley face in my post. This would lead one to believe my post was facetious. If you do not know what that means please go look it up. Thank you.
re: More for the ND, Arkansas argument
Notre Dame has no interest in being in a conference for football. They reason they are still independent is not because they don't want to be in the Big Ten. ND will not join the big 12, big 10, big East, or any conference. It will not happen. They would lose LOADS of donor support if they were to join a conference.

Key takes from the article:
Quote:
Jones, according to a source familiar with his thinking, wants his alma mater to play in a league with former Southwest Conference rivals Texas and Texas A&M. A visionary, Jones sees the Big 12 expanding with Arkansas and Notre Dame.
This is just another pipe dream poster who has an outlet to voice what he wants to happen.
I can be a source who is familiar with the 'thinking' of a business man. He's a visionary? Lol.
Re: More for the ND, Arkansas argument
Why would the big 12 want North Dakota??:jimlad:

The 3 schools on the big 12's wish list from what I have understood are Arkansas, Louisville and BYU in that order

If Notre Dame showed even the slightest bit of interest, they would move up to number one on the list.
Longest of long shots...

If schools start going to more conference games and Notre Dame has trouble scheduling then they might be forced into a conference. Isn't scheduling the main reason they joined the Big East for other sports? Probably won't become an issue since there aren't that many football games and a lot of schools are willing to play them but you never know.
