Is the Big East trying to become irrelevant in football?

UCF, I think, is a sleeping giant in football. They have over 50,000 students and are near a major city (Orlando) which has no pro football team. They could be a force in the coming years.

For "I", for "S", forever!
For Iowa State all the way.
Let's go! To show them what the gang's all here for,
Go! To show them how the Cyclones cheer.
For "I", for "S", forever!
For Iowa State do it right!
It's time to climb up on the vict'ry wagon,
Fight! Iowa State, Fight! Fight! -

If I were them, I'd start looking at Eastern Carolina. Not a bad FB school.

Re: Big East not giving up
Time to give Jim Williams of the Washington Examiner a little credit. He told me in the interview I did with him that those would be two of the first schools that the Big East looked to in expansion.
