Regional Conferences
So I threw it out as a joke in another thread, but then was interested in what such a thing might look like. Won't ever happen, but here is rough idea of what complete conference re-alignment might look like if the 120 FBS teams were organized with an eye only to geography: Southeastern Conference: South Division 1. Florida 2. University of Miami 3. South Florida 4. Florida International 5. Florida Atlantic 6. Central Florida North Division 1. Georgia Tech 2. Auburn 3. Florida State 4. Georgia 5. Re: Regional Conferences
I had the same idea, but it was more like 12 10-team division. This would be good if there was a 16-team playoff system in place. The division winner would get an automatic bid to the playoffs while there would be 4 at-large bids to fill the remaining slots. Each division would play a round robin schedule within the division which leaves three non-division games for each team. That just my theory on how college football should be.

I just gave the top 6-ranked conf. champs byes and did a 10-team playoff...gotta keep a little controversy -

I guess I forgot this was college football and how it's not an equal opportunity organization. -

Re: Regional Conferences
I asked for your alignment in a previous post, and got it almost immediately.
It's a fun exercise. I'll look at it in-depth later. (I promise not to tear it apart )
My favorite thing so far: That U-M, MSU, et al are in the Mid-American. -
