Good for them...
But it'll go nowhere.

From the Senators' letter...
Rather it appears that invitations are being extended because of the major media markets where they are situated.
Is Nebraska considered a major media market?

Re: Harkin and Grassley Questioning Big 10
Not to derail:
1. I find it hard to believe that Nebbie will pull their "revenue weight". The only thing the BTN concretely picked up is the #78 TV market and whatever Lincoln is. (700,000 subscription paying households @ apx. $1/mo = $8.4M/year)
2. I also find it hard to believe that with nearly every conf. digging in for a slice of the "TV revenue" pie, the BTN will continue to provide $22M for each school in years ahead.

Nebby agreed to none equal revenue sharing when joining. The only way that Nebby will get $22 million a year is if adding them to the big ten creates that much additional money. Nebraska was guaranteed as much money as they were getting in the big 12 this year.

It was a unanimous vote, right?

It was a unanimous vote, right? It was but it stopped there also when speculation was it could continue.

This did little to nothing. And if the Big 10 ignores this (which I think they did) and goes to 16 or whatever, as does the Pac 10, this still goes nowhere. WAY too much money on the line.
