Ol' Nutt is stepping onto a bit of a slippery slope in two regards.
1. It's a complete FU to the current QBs (although the 2nd string guy just left I believe) 2. Placing a big bet on Masoli picking up the offense and excelling, otherwise you flush a year of learning experience down the tube for the young guys.
On the flip side, what does it hurt by letting him walk on and see what he can do. I wouldn't be surprised to see him starting by week 2 or 3 though.
I wonder what their reasoning is? The article doesn't mention it.
I did find Houston Nutt's quote funny, though, "We're in the people-helping business. I want to plead with that subcommittee. He's done nothing but what he's supposed to do."
Is that what you call it when you sign 30+ recruits when you only have 25 available scholarships? The only business Houston Nutt is in, is the Houston Nutt-helping business.
"What a horrible night to have a curse."
-Simon Belmont
"Please bury me with all my stuff, because you know it's mine..."
-Master Shake
"Passersby were amazed by the unusually large amounts of blood."

This. Nutt realizes the SEC West is going to be stacked and he doesn't have a QB.
