How does North Carolina get so many good recruits for FB?

They seem consistently ranked with the Top 25 classes, even getting in the Top 10 several years.
North Carolina has put together some pretty mediocre seasons the last decade, but they still seem to get really good athletes. Do they cheat? How are they doing this?

This. UNC's recent trouble has nothing to do with Davis. That's players talking to agents. Davis isn't be accused of getting them money through boosters or anything like that.

There's a reason Davis got Miami back to elite status: he's one helluva coach and recruiter.

3 things: Butch Davis, UNC is in fertile recruiting grounds up and down the Atlantic seaboard (Virginia and the Carolinas produce very good first and second-tier talent) and John Blake is well known as an aggressive recruiter and teacher with NFL connections and top college level experience (Oklahoma, Miss. St., Nebraska)...some questions about whether he is the connection between street agents and UNC players

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$...pretty simple. How does lowly UNI get all of their players??? $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$. This is a money driven sport, and its not going to change, no matter what the NCAA tries to do.

Auburn does it because of their coaching staff. All top recruiters including Chizik. I think Auburn will win the SEC west and then Malzahn will be a head coach in 2011.

Scandal out of north carolina is Butch Davis' nanny or something crazy like that was a tutor for a bunch of players and wrote all their papers. Supposedly way more trouble is coming their way than just Austin getting an agent to fly him to Miami. Davis may have some problems coming his way.

The warmer climates and beautiful women on campus make a big difference compared to the Iowa State's of the world. There is a lot of talent in the Southeast, both football players and women.

You are exactly right. They are going down. Guys like Davis are why the NCAA needs to start penalizing coaches and not just schools. He was bad news at Miami and brought it to UNC. He brought the tallent in, they just have no business being at that school.
