    Another Ranking of Universities

This one is by Thomson Reuters, who carries a little more weight with me than, say, U.S. News and World Report.

Listed are the top 200 Universities in the World, not just the United States, as compiled for 2010-11.

Iowa State is ranked #156, and is one of only two Big 12 schools in the rankings, the other being Colorado (#67). Notably absent: Texas, Texas A&M. Almost all of the Big 10 is in the rankings.

Thanks for the link - I'll have to read more about the criteria on this one. Texas and Texas A&M are two tremendous teaching and research universities. That's a head-scratcher.
And they also have U of Wash ranked ahead of Duke?

Well, there is one notable absence from the Big10. Nebraska somehow missed this list. I guess I assumed that they would be on it since the Big10 repeatedly stated during expansion talk that academics were important in their decision making process.

    Re: Another Ranking of Universities

I mentioned it the other day, albeit not in the correct forum.

    I'll take the ranking!
