    Simultaneous Wrestling and Gymnastics

    Have any others attended an ISU Beauty and the Beast meet of simultaneous men's wrestling and women's gymnastics? I have to say it is rather incredible, especially when the gymnasts are doing floor exercises right next to the wrestling mat. It is also fun to see the wrestling fans teach new words to the little girls watching the gymnastics!

    Seriously, it is an incredible evening. Only ever few years do we get to see so much athleticism at one time. I heartily recommend attending, especially if you never have done so.

    My roommate and I accidentally snuck in last year. It was pretty cool and definitely a unique experience. If you get the opportunity to go, I'd definitely recommend it. There's just always something going on.

    I think you can make a case for them being some of the best athletes of the university, particularly in terms of muscle tone and precision. Of course, it lacks the interactive team dimensions and much of the strategy of basketball and football, but it is rather incredible to see all at one time.

    I think it is the only way I can watch either wrestling or gymnastics. When one is starting to bore me, the other is usually doing something exciting. I greatly enjoyed it when I went two years ago.

    One of the highlights of my ISU fan career was a Beauty and the Beast meet against Nebraska. Toward the end, one of our wrestlers got a pin just as Laura-Kay Powell finished a fantastic floor routine (9.95ish). It was unbelieveable to have two such climactic moments simultaneously.
