Acct 215
wondering if anyone of you guys on here would have happened to take acct 215 with larry curtis at iowa state.. I've had a rough start to the semester being ill and hospitalized. Wondering if there are any old exams out there or notes, first exam is monday, and I hate the fact I've missed so much class. Any help is appreciated!

Any help is appreciated! 1. Find someone in a fraternity or sorority. They will have what you need.
2. This also works, although takes more time. Memorize all of the definitions to the bolded words in your textbook.
Note: I used number 2 until the final test, worked fine. Then, I talked with someone in a fraternity and they laughed at me. I received some great help that reduced my study time immensly. Couldn't believe how much time I wasted studying other things. I could have spent those wasted hours drinking or sleeping.

Re: Acct 215
I guess the tests are out there and similar to to the one he will give according to these other posts, but I didn't have that knowledge when I took the tests. Multiple choice, hard questions, low average. At the end of the semester he curves the class significantly however so it's more about how you compare with other people's scores. What he teaches in class is somewhat important, but you can definitely learn the same things by reading the book. The powerpoints are helpful but that can't be the only thing that you study off of.

Re: Acct 215
Loved that class, been over 10 years since I took it though but if I remember nearly all his material is lecture-based which sucks for you if you've had to miss class. I'd see if someone in the class might be nice enough to let you copy their notes maybe?

Any help is appreciated! Wow, I took that class with him 15 years ago. Don't remember it being too difficult, and I wasn't a big fan of studying.

Any help is appreciated! Courtesy of someone on CF (name currently escapes me), I got Exam #2 and Exam #3 which were not exactly the same as the tests I had. Some of the questions were exactly the same, and many were similar so they totally helped out!
I never got Exam #1 because I inquired about the exams after I had already taken the first one. So although I wouldn't be able to help you with your first exam, PM me and I can send the other two to help you out later in the semester.

Re: Acct 215
Went the first day and all 3 test days and got a C+ or B- just by looking at the old tests.

Re: Acct 215
I got a B+ last semester and I do have a few old tests that helped. Not all of the questions on the new tests were on the old test but about 1/3 of them were the exact same word for word. I still have these tests if you want them. PM me if you are interested.

I don’t care where you come from, whether it’s Texas, Florida, California, or right here in the state of Iowa, I don’t care about any of that… But what I did care about is moving forward from that day on, that we were one team." -Paul Rhoads -
Re: Acct 215
I looked through my computer for those old exams, but I must have had them in hard copy.
However, I did find my old essay answers for the final (I took it in the summer, so that may be different than the normal class). I will say that it is amazing how much a student forgets after taking a class. I'm in law school now, and while my answers on that old exam are fairly accurate, I don't remember learning half that stuff in the class.
Now if you ever need help in Beverages (HRI 383), that is a file that will get you through the class with relatively no work.

Re: Acct 215
If there's a class it's OK to miss large chunks of this one is it. Acct 215 helped my Daily Crossword prowess. The guy who said to befriend a frat guy and get the old tests is correct. You will be fine.
